Farmers Markets – Produce

Small Maine Farms Are Important

Produce Found at Farmers Markets

Maine Farmers MarketsWhere do you find the freshest local produce from the farm? The Farmer’s Market of course! Many small, local growers and mid-sized Maine farmers bring their vegetables, fruits, and berries to the local Maine Farmer’s Market. There are many of these “shopping centers” all over Maine. Below is a list by month and food type of what would be in season at a farmers’ market. Keep in mind that this is only what is typical. Weather and when a crop was planted may cause it to ripen earlier or later. Some places also use greenhouses which helps to lengthen the growing season.
