The Cliff House Resort & Spa
Southern Maine Escapes – Seaside Getaways
Ogunquit Maine Oceanside Vacations
Escape to the southern shores of Coastal Maine. There is nothing quite like a Maine seaside vacation. Hear the waves breaking on the rocks, feel the ocean spray mist caress you face, and smell the invigorating salt air. What better place to experience all this but at The Cliff House Resort & Spa in Ogunquit, Maine. Contact us to feature your Maine business.
One can lose themselves in the rich history of The Cliff House Resort, which started in 1866 with Elsie Jane Weare purchasing Bald Head Cliff and planning a resort. The walls are lined with historic photos and the story of how this family-owned resort has developed and reconstructed itself to become the award-winning establishment it is today.
One of the highlights of our visit was the Labyrinth – a walking path on the Spa terrace. This thought-provoking walk certainly effects people in their personal journeys. Calming and peaceful, this path is a great place for reflecting on one’s life, or just soul searching and leaving the world behind for a brief time.
Massage therapy allows one to unwind and rejuvenate their energy. Select from more than 10 massage techniques, or select a facial, body wrap, and nail care. The Cliff House Resort & Spa fitness center offers yet another outstanding view of the ocean. You can work out without missing the ocean views. Both the indoor/ outdoor rimless pool and the huge hot tub with fountain are certainly relaxing treats. All face the ocean, making this extra special.
Breakfast is served daily with both a buffet and an a la carte menu. Light lunches consist of salads, crab cakes, and pizza, and the lunch menu is available during the day and early evening. Dinner at The Cliff House is a bit more elegant than casual coastal dining. The menu is heavily laced with such fresh Maine ingredients as blueberries, which are often incorporated into recipes. Lobster is offered in several ways on the menu. Casual sportswear is acceptable for breakfast, while business casual is expected for the dinner hours. Reservations are highly recommended.
On one of our days at The Cliff House Resort & Spa there was an incoming wedding party. What a fantastic place for not only the wedding, but also all the festivities like the rehearsal dinner, getting to meet and re-meet old friends and just to mingle. The Cliff House setting, professional staff, cliffs and seaside views make a stay here more than magnificent.
The Cliff House Resort and Spa would be an ideal setting for a corporate retreat. After a long day of business there is so much to do. Relax at the resort, or visit York, Kittery, Wells or surrounding villages.
I highly recommend The Cliff House Resort & Spa for your next trip to coastal Maine. The service and attention to detail is first class. The ocean views, our room in the main building, and our meals were very enjoyable. Make a visit to the Cliff House Resort & Spa an annual Maine tradition.
