Vienna Maine MapLocated on the western side of Maine’s Belgrade Lakes region, the town of Vienna was first settled in 1786, incorporated in 1802 and named after the famous Austrian city. Each year, Vienna hosts the annual Grange Seedling and Bake Sale, which benefits the Mill Stream Grange.

Because the area surrounding Vienna is home to at least nine different bodies of water, it is a popular spot for fishing, swimming and canoeing. The main village lies on the banks of Flying Pond and has become a popular summer destination for vacationers from the Northeast region of America. Vienna usually sees its population triple between June and August each year.

Famous Vienna natives include Samuel Morrill, a US Representative, Carrie Stevens, a world-renowned fly-tier and Milton Bradly, board game pioneer and inventor of ‘The Game of Life’ and the paper cutter.
