First settled in 1761, Mount Desert can be found on Mount Desert Island, between Tremont and Bar Harbor, Maine. Bordered on the southeast by Sargent and Penobscot Mountains, Mount Desert includes the villages of Seal Harbor, Somesville, Otter Creek, Hall Quarry, Pretty Marsh and Northeast Harbor.
