Machiasport is home to the Larrabee Heath nature preserve, which is managed by the Nature Conservancy and offers many sheltered harbors including the famous Bucks Harbor. A few sites of interest that are frequented by tourists include; the Fort O'Brien State Historic Site, Larrabee Heath, Libby Island Light and the Machiasport Historical Society and Museum.
