Lincoln is a great place to do business. It is home to Lincoln Paper and Tissue, the area's largest employer and maker of colored tissue paper, coated paper, and raw pulp. Lincoln is also home to some of the best metal fabrication companies around, including Fastco and Johnston Dandy Company. Lincoln was named after Enoch Lincoln, who bought some of the land in the area in 1825 and served as governor of Maine in 1827. Each July, Lincoln hosts the annual Riverdrivers Homecoming Festival, with many community events including a juried parade. Lincoln is home to thirteen lakes and multiple boat landings, making it a boater's paradise.
