First settled in 1800, Hudson, Maine was named Jackson and Kirkland before being renamed Hudson in 1854. Hudson is located in the central region of Penobscot County and is located near Pushaw Lake. One of Hudson's more famous residents wass Maxwell Anderson, a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright responsible for 'Anne of the Thousand Days', 'Key Largo', and the screenplay for 'All Quiet on the Western Front'.
