First settled in 1819, Enfield, Maine can be found where the Piscaraquis River meets the Penobscot River in Penobscot County. While this community does have year-round residents, it is predominantly a seasonal community, with several lakeside cottages along the edges of Cold Stream Pond. Enfield's most famous native was Merle Fogg, an aviator and stunt pilot who died in an air crash.
