Although Drew, Maine was incorporated as a town in 1821, it was forced to surrender its status during the Great Depression and return to being a plantation. Drew Plantation is located on the eastern edge of Penobscot County, along the banks of the Madawaska River. The area is loaded with wetalnds and bogs, as a results of the river.
