Named after Bradley Blackman, one of it's earliest settlers, the town of Bradley, Maine was incorporated as a town in 1835. Although Bradley started as a sawmill and lumber town, economic success came quickly to the area with the arrival of the Great Works Milling and Manufacturing Company in 1833. Today, Bradley is considered to be part of the greater Bangor, Maine metropolitan area.
