Maine Surfing Long Sands Beach York Maine Expands Surfing
York Beach Maine residents recently voted Yes on #23 and by doing so made history - making Longsands beach more accessible to surfers. The move allows for a new surf zone. A long waited relief for local surfers.
Surfers can now surf a wider section of Longsands Beach. Longsands is becoming increasely popular as a surfing destination. It's a short walk from the road to the oceans edge and the surf is usually pretty good - especially on stormy days.

Long Sands Beach
A 1.5 mile sandy beach with metered parallel parking along its entire length. Surfing allowed in designated areas. Handicap accessible beach with ramps and public restrooms. Raft and beach umbrella rentals. Trolley service available. Shops and food within walking distance. Lifeguards are on duty from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Views of Hubble Light and Boone Lighthouse. Check out the local resorts, York inns, hotels and restaurants. The Sun 'n Surf is located walking distance from Longsands beach and offers true oceanfront dining. The Sun 'n Surf also has a take-out window for ice cream.
