This ski area opened in 1964, and offers skiing and snowboarding on 60 skiable acres. They have a ski school, rentals, and cafeteria. There is also nordic skiing nearby. Snowboarding is allowed including a terrain park and a halfpipe.
Getting There: New Hermon Mountain ski area is located near the Maine coast in upper Penobscot Bay, on Route 1 about 10 miles west of Bangor. Take I-95 to Exit 43. Turn right at the top of the ramp and go until the first road on the right. This is called Hinckley Hill Road. Turn right onto this road and go until the road ends at a T intersection. There you go left. The road is called Newburg Road. A short distance later you will see the Hermon Mountain Ski Area on the left.
