Lost Valley, located in Auburn, operates as a feeder area for many of the larger resorts. It is both affordable and accessible; it is just 45 minutes from both Portland and Augusta right off the Maine Turnpike. Although it is a small area it does offer terrain for beginners through intermediates. They are also open for night skiing and have a variety of ticket options available -- including an hourly ticket.
Getting There: Lost Valley ski area is located just north of I-495, on Lost Valley Road in Auburn, Maine.
