    Biking - Jul 24 - Rockland - Maine Lobster Ride and Roll - Oceanside High School - The Bicycle Coalition of Maine's Lobster Ride and Roll follows winding, country lanes and the breathtaking rockbound coast past lighthouses, lupines and lobster boats. The ride features five distance options, from a family-friendly 15 miles to 30, 50, 80 and 100 mile routes. Meet at Oceanside High School (formerly Rockland High School) on 400 Broadway aka Rte 1A.
  • Festivals - Jan 30 thru Feb 07 - Camden - Camden Winterfest
    Festivals - Jan 30 thru Feb 07 - Camden - Camden Winterfest - Camden Winterfest 2016 is Maine's Mardi Gras. This is a week-long celebration of winter with outdoor and indoor activities, beginning with ice carving and snow sculpting and culminating with the Toboggan Nationals and a celebratory dance, all with a Maine Mardi Gras festive theme. Beginning on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 30 and 31, enjoy ice carving, music, refreshments, and festivities at the Amphitheatre; snowboarding demos and competition in Harbor Park; the first-ever Polar Plunge in Harbor Park, and snow sculpting on the Village Green. Tuesday evening there will be a free family movie at the Camden Public Library at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening, the terrifically entertaining Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers will perform "Everybody Loves Pirates" at the Camden Opera House at 6 p.m. Tickets will be $5, ask about the family rate! Thursday will be our Mardi Gras Concert at the Camden Opera House at 7 p.m. We will also kick off the Frost Heave Challenge featuring tasty specialty drinks from contending bartenders in town. Friday features the kickoff of the US National Toboggan Championships at the Snow Bowl, with the "Snow Plow and Mardi Gras Parade" through town in the evening followed by fireworks over the Harbor. On Saturday the Toboggan Nationals continue, and there will be a Mardi Gras block party and dance downtown, along with the Frost Heave Challenge finale. Sunday we will wrap up Winterfest with the finals of the US National Toboggan Championships at the Snow Bowl.

    Festivals - Aug 03 thru Aug 07 - Rockland - Maine Lobster Festival - The Maine Lobster Festival is one of New England's great summer events. Tons of steamed Maine lobsters, waterfront activities, maritime displays, Maine arts, naval vessels, harbor cruises, entertainment and a parade.

    Art - Nov 20 thru Feb 21 - Me, Mona, and Mao - Portland Museum of Art - Me, Mona, and Mao is an interactive installation of three works of art: Andy Warhol's Mao, Aaron T Stephan's Girl With a Pearl Earring - Tangled in Process, and a copy of Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa. As part of Your Museum, Reimagined, it is designed to present the PMA collection in fresh ways to encourage discussion and new connections. The exhibition is on view Nov. 20 through Feb. 21, 2016.

    Art - Dec 04 thru Feb 27 - Artist Patty Allison Exhibit: Imbued With Hues - Maine Historical Society - Maine Historical Society exhibit "Imbued With Hues," which displays historical images colorized by Patty Allison. The exhibit highlights Patty's artistic perspective on Maine life in different eras, and features street scenes, beachgoers, woodsmen and more. Her historical accuracy in colorizing images is uncanny, and MHS is pleased to offer an exclusive collection of reproduction color prints for sale while this show is on display. The original black and white images are from the collections of Maine Historical Society's Vintage Maine Images. The exhibit runs through February 27, 2016.

    Children - Feb 20 - Gruff - Gracie Theatre - "Gruff," a new family musical with goats (not real goats), is coming to Husson University's Gracie Theatre. In this interactive and puppet-filled musical, a young goat leaves the junkyard for the first time and stumbles into the fantastical land of the trolls, where she learns about the wonder of the natural world, and a new adventure begins, in which trolls and goats learn to live and play together.
